Giving Thanks!

There is definitely a lot to be thankful for this season!
I have a wonderful husband and daughter, supportive parents, a perky puppy, and most importantly a forgiving and loving God. I am also blessed with a generous network of friends and a great job. Yes, I have a lot to give thanks for in my life!
And today, on this Black Friday, I am thankful for something else a little more, should we say, materialistic. I bought myself a little something, something. One of the many bargains purchased today during our bright and early shop-athon! I am the new proud owner of this precious baby:Oh yeah, baby! I've got a Cricut Expression and I'm not afraid to use it. =) I can't wait to start crafting with this little gadget!

Around 5:45 this morning, we received the call, "No school today due to inclement weather." Woot, Woot! So after my husband went off to work (Yes, the poor guy has to go in no matter what.), I went back to sleep. Aww! Sleeeping late on a "work" day ~ bliss! The rest of my day was spent enjoying time with my daughter. We bundled up and braved the cold. Oh what fun, it is to ride a one horse open sleigh giant exercise ball! Most people go down a snowy hill on a sleigh, sled, or even trash-can lid. Not this family! We rolled down the hill on a giant exercise ball. Oh what fun! Hey Good Lookin', What'cha Got Cookin'

... How about cookin' somethin' up for me?... These are the words that my husband and daughter are uttering in my house! I've mentioned before that I rarely cook . It's not that I despise cooking. It's just that I prefer cooking to entertain guests, rather than cooking to survive. Thus, tonight my family had sandwiches for dinner. But after dinner, what did I do? Why I prepared a full meal for eight (8) people! That's right, I whipped up an appetizer, an entree, a side dish, AND a dessert for eight people. Taking the Resort Approach

Last week my husband and I were blessed to be able to escape to Cabo for a week. We had an AMAZING vacation! While we were there we "unplugged" from our daily lives; however, we plugged in to our environment. We certainly enjoyed some rest and relaxation, but we also engaged in lots of conversations with those around us and participated in various fun activities led by the resort staff. It wasn't until we were on the flight home that I was struck by an Aha! moment: There were people from all over the world staying at our resort, but we were all united as one resort family. When we walked by others, eye contact was made, greetings exchanged, and conversations took place amongst perfect strangers.  Other than the beautiful scenery, what brought us together?
